Building a Nevada That WE Can Afford
-
Val believes we should cap rent prices so that they never increase by more than 3% each year.
-
The minimum wage should be equal to the minimum wage required to rent an apartment - and it should be indexed to inflation so we don’t have to ask again.
-
Nevada spends so much money each year giving handouts to corporations and billionaires. Val believes we should change our priorities and invest in universal childcare for all, public transportation, parks and recreation, and stop corporations from price gouging.

Nevada used to be one of the most affordable states to rent or buy a home, but now that trend has reversed. Nevada rental prices have skyrocketed, and home prices are out of reach.
I believe we lower costs by addressing their true source - the cost. I support a rent cap that prevents rent prices from increasing by more than 3% each year.

I believe it’s past time to raise the minimum wage. Inflation has far outpaced wage growth in Nevada. We should index our minimum wage to inflation, so that we’re not begging politicians for another raise in five years.
I support increased protections for workers - including more sick time, overtime protections, and gig workers’ rights.
-
I believe we should invest in free, universal childcare for all kids under 5.
